The idea to create the Osmar Rodrigues Cruz’s Institute has always been present in my life. I used to bother my father insisting in the necessity to make something with those thousands books and magazines of his library. He resisted because he believed, and he was absolutely Wright, that no one values a library increased with sacrifice along a whole life. With the computer science Technologies increase the idea of a Virtual Library occured me, what was an unexplored subject 15 years ago. So I insisted with that because the collection would be safe and preserved for next generations. Finally he bought the Idea and put me in charge of the library. The original plans were evoluting and nothing could keep me away from my enthusiasm to make them come true. I started it taking care of the books when I realized how much of my life was related to them. My father passed away without having the pleasure to know those people who trusted that idea, who knew his collection, giving it its deserved importance. Nowadays, those books life reflect, more than anything else, my father’s life, the one who taught me everything, but mainly to love researching and theater. Besides the creation of an unique popular theater company in our country, he left in this collection the transcendence of his own masterpiece – the knowledge and research socialization.
Nothing could be done without two veterinarians contribution. Yes, it was through Dra. Maria do Carmo Arenales, great homeopath and professor inclined to adopt his idea and who suggested me a librarian who bought the idea, falling in love with the books. However without my cousins Luiz Roberto (veterinarian!) and Ana Paula, who are my father youngest brother’s children, who has also passed away, it could not be strong enough. Following a noble union of written fates, José Orlando – my máster and spiritual fahter, helped me and guided me once more even though he considerated it “insane” he co-signed it with the Orixas’ help (African divinity). Then Iris introduced me to Dante Lui Jr. from CRESCER and to Eduardo Voigt from PRIMA, who then knew the library, gave the first step to make it true, donating the indexes system what made it really happen. There was no turning back, my combination of idea, project and dream was becoming real. Then Renata came, this artful and talented website’s mother, who is also from Crescer, she has already adopted the books!
The Institution composition was possible due to my academical father, Clovis Garcia, who oriented the Dra. Daniella Löw, who is also someone who makes dreams come true. Talking about the Council demands time, because each one represents one different moment from which the congruent connection makes this Institut richer. Gleide Cruz represents her children who are in Europe and she brings balance and wisdom to it. Clovis is always present in the entities founded by my father and him, I’m flattered he takes part of our group. Valdemir, known as the great Vadinho, has represented the artistic class, as an actuating sound designer and the mentor of the library’s shape project. Raimundo, a poet, an actor and also a professor, who represents the Universidade Federal da Bahia (Federal University of Bahia). So does Antonio, who brings the dance and his research from the Universidade Federal de Alagoas (Federal University of Alagoas), to our São Paulo.
The cast is ready, everybody in their places, the curtains are opened and the show is only begining. I appreciate all those who believed that dream was possible to come true, they were 99,9%!
